Privacy policy
What this site collects, who receives it, and how to ask us to delete it.
This policy covers Nib & Notebook at nibandnotebook.com, published by Slate Mill Group. It is written to be read rather than to be legally impressive.
What we collect directly
Only what you type into the contact form: your name, your email address, the subject you selected and your message. That is sent to our inbox so we can reply. We do not add it to a mailing list, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone.
The contact form also records how long the page was open before you submitted it and your IP address, both used solely to block automated spam. Neither is stored beyond the request.
What third parties collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and which buy links get clicked. It sets cookies and collects a truncated IP address, device and browser information, and the pages you visit on this site. We use it in aggregate; we do not attempt to identify individual readers.
You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on, with any tracker-blocking extension, or by using a browser that blocks third-party scripts. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.
Affiliate links
Buy links on this site pass through our own redirect and then to the retailer, which is currently Amazon. The retailer sets its own cookies to attribute a purchase to us, and its privacy policy applies from the moment you arrive there. We do not receive your name, your address or your payment details — only aggregate reports of how many purchases were attributed. How the commercial relationship works is set out in the affiliate disclosure.
Hosting
This site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server request data including IP addresses in order to serve pages and defend against abuse.
Contact form messages are delivered through Microsoft Graph, which processes the content of your message in order to send it.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. The cookies present come from Google Analytics and, after you click a buy link, from the retailer. Blocking them affects nothing on this site.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Because the only personal data we hold is email correspondence you sent us, that request is usually straightforward: email info@nibandnotebook.com and we will delete the thread.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after that constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
